RAP-UNZEL

We were treated to an incredible performance by the New Zealand Playhouse Company last week, thanks to the PTA. We completed a quick piece of shared writing the next day:

On Wednesday the whole school enjoyed the play Rap-unzel in the renovated school hall. This act combined ‘Far Far Away’s Got Talent’, ‘American Idol’ (with host Simon Cow), and ‘X-Factor’. The other actors were playing Rapunzel and Prince Rupert, or Rupee.

The funniest moments were when Prince Rupert was rapping, he turned around, and you could see his underwear! Also when Simon Cow appeared and said, “I don’t mean to be ruuude,” and when he introduced his song ‘Baby I’m beautiful, baby your beautiful, baby we’re beautiful, oooh baby!’

The actors showed amazing expression which made the show fantastic. They didn’t just get the audience to sit down, we got to join in and be a part of the show! An example was when we had to read the ‘applause’ signs and follow the instructions. Also, we had to keep the beat for Prince Rupert. The audience were always up on their toes, enjoying the show!
Overall it was an outstanding performance, and we all hope they come back before we leave for high school. We all appreciated the show!
