NEW ZEALAND - 60% PURE

Recently we conducted a survey on Survey Monkey to see how pure you think New Zealand is. 65 people responded, and most of them thought that New Zealand is only 60% pure! Here are the results and some of the interesting comments people made:

 

100%

I think that New Zealand is 100% pure because a lot of places like the sea and lakes are very flat. In Queenstown when it snows it is really nice. So I think it is 100% pure!

I have been to lots of other places which make New Zealand look beautiful - clean and green. It can not be 100% because whilst we have humans and animals living here there has to be pollution but it is very good and I think we should celebrate that! Its important that we all do our bit to keep it that way.

60%

Because there is still a lot of rubbish and plastic bags in the water and on the streets. Not only plastic bags, but wrappers, cans, and other pieces of trash.

40%

People need to start using more public transport.

I think this, because there is a lot of rubbish. If you walk on one side of the road about 100m, in some places you could get two trash bags full of rubbish. Also when you look at some rivers they're brown, and look at Foxton beach you can't even see through the water. Oil drilling also comes into play, but I'm not 100% sure if it affects the environment.

Don't Know:

I think that, because some parts of New Zealand are clean and other parts have rubbish everywhere. So I am not sure how clean New Zealand really is.
