We had a go at making ice cream, here is the method we used.
1. Fill a large sealable bag with 1kg of ice and 200g of salt.
2. Fill a small sealable bag with 120ml of milk, 20g of sugar and a splash of vanilla essence.
3. Place the small bag into the big bag, surrounded by ice.
4. Shake for 10min.
We noticed that the milk gradually cooled and thickened into ice cream! The shaking motion caused the cream in the milk to thicken, and the salt in the ice prevented the milk from freezing and turning into hard ice.
